Since the mid 1990's there has been increasing pressure on the packaging industry to tackle the environmental issues relating to its products, production processes and waste stream.

While considerable progress has been made, especially in the area of recycling; the very nature of methods used to create say, corrugated board (which have not changed fundamentally for over 100 years) greatly limits that industries effectiveness as a green proponent
.

THAT IS UNTIL NOW!
U-Pack’s development of the revolutionary Cortec-Line TM system is set to radically change the packaging industry.

CREATIVE INNOVATION PRODUCES ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY PACKAGING

The Cortec-Line TM system redefines corrugated board design;
The product produced by the Cortec-Line TM system is called eviroboard TM,
which is lighter, stronger and a more environmentally friendly material.

The Cortec-Line TM system has redefine
d corrugated board and the way it's made.
Corrugated board produced by the Cortec-Line TM has many advantages for the primary customer not least its cost.

U-Pack has already carried out cost saving evaluations for a number of large blue chip and medium sized companies and without exception the potential savings are tremendous.

Eviroboard's Green Credentials
Traditional Corrugated Board production processes emit 305kg of greenhouse CO2 gas per tonne of corrugated board produced (FEFCO stats 2005) , eviroboard production emits only 19kg of greenhouse CO2 emissions per tonne of board produced

Paper Mills take in wood and produce paper.
Paper rolls are shipped by truck, 27 tonnes per load to corrugating plants.
Value is added by converting the paper into corrugated board. 27 tonnes of corrugated board is then shipped to a sheet plant by 5-6 trucks

The eviroboard way

27 tonnes of paper shipped by truck to OPM

OPM factory with a Cortec-line converts paper directly into eviroboard and boxes
Sheet plant converts corrugated board into boxes and other components and ships 27 tonnes to OPM by a further 5 trucks
